Pick Seven Fictional Characters That Describe You (Series Introduction)

This entry is part 1 of 1 in the series Pick n Things that Describe You

I was asked by a friend why I usually don't participate in the perennial "bandwagon" self-revelation posts that circulate on social media, e.g., Pick n Things That Describe You, Fill-In-The-Blank About X, Tell n Things About Your Partner, etc. I explained that I'm generally a private person when it comes to such matters, especially when it relates to others, and that I reserve these type of conversations for face-to-face discussions. We reviewed some of the more recent ones, discussing them in detail, and he challenged me to pick one and not only do it, but to blog about it, explaining my choices. After much deliberation, I have. It definitely will make for an interesting series of articles. While I'm at it, I'll also pass the challenge along to you.

I have chosen "Pick Seven Fictional Characters That Describe You". It's revealing enough (hopefully) to pique your interest while not being overly exposing for a privacy (and personal security) perspective. If you have participated in it, or have any inclination to do so, and have a blog, I encourage you to write about it, too, explaining your choices and how they describe you. There is something in these characters that resonate with your identity, experiences and/or desires: what is it? Why do you identify with these characters?

If you haven't done this challenge, especially if you have a blog of you're own, why don't you? If not this one, why don't you consider creating a unique challenge of your own? Just a thought….

If you don't have a blog and don't care to start one (and I don't blame you, it's a lot of work!), you might consider posting a write-up directly to the wall of your favorite social media website. If you do, I request that you leave a comment below to let me know. A link to the post is welcome and helpful!

I'll get to this myself, writing an article every several weeks or so, but for now, here's a preview.

  • Konstantin "Kostya" Dmitrievich Levin — Anna Karenina
  • Beast — Beauty and the Beast
  • Samwise "Sam" Gamgee — The Lord of the Rings
  • Neville Longbottom — Harry Potter series
  • Albert/Presto, The Magician — Dungeon and Dragons
  • Christian — Moulin Rouge!
  • Tyrion Lannister — Game of Thrones
